  • footpaths
  • street signs
  • telegraph poles
  • parks and reserves
  • ferry terminals
  • bus stops and shelters
  • traffic lights and signal boxes
  • other buildings and infrastructure, such as libraries and pools.

Offensive, obscene or high impact graffiti

Any graffiti that’s offensive must be removed or covered up immediately. 

If you see offensive graffiti on Council property, phone us on 07 3403 8888.

Offensive graffiti on private property must be removed by the owner or occupier.

To help maintain our community’s sense of safety, we encourage you to report unmanaged graffiti in your neighbourhoods.

Graffiti is illegal. If your home or business has been graffitied or vandalised, report it to the police immediately.

You need to:

  1. Report the incident to QPS via Policelink on 131 444 or the website.
  2. Remove the graffiti as soon as possible.

Get support to remove graffiti

Council offers free graffiti removal kits for residents.

To claim a kit, head to your local ward office or Customer Centre (excluding East and West centres). Take proof of address with you, such as your rate account or driver’s licence.

If you can’t pick up a removal kit, complete the online form. We’ll send you a kit or get in touch about other removal options.
