About street sweeping

Street sweeping keeps our roads and streets clean by removing litter, green waste and other debris.

You can help keep streets clean by making sure all household waste, green waste and recycling is put in the correct bin.

Road cleaning

Council street sweeping schedule is a 24 week cyclical maintenance program currently being trialled as of the 15 January 2024.

The schedule is evolving as the team implements a tiered strategy. This approach means certain areas will receive more frequent sweeping than others. The team is consistently gathering additional data to increase the program's effectiveness.

Help keep our streets clean

On collection days, make sure that your bin is positioned on the footpath with the handle facing toward your house. This ensures that rubbish doesn’t spill onto the street.

Bag all loose rubbish going into your general waste bin, such as dust, kitchen scraps and grass clippings, to avoid spills.

Dispose of loose leaves and greenery on your driveway or street front using Council's green waste bins. It's easy, affordable and avoids blocking street drains.
